Dave and Wendy Penner – Director of the EFCCM

Penner, D&W prayer cardDave and Wendy were both raised in Christian homes. They met at Briercrest Bible College and began their relationship with a strong commitment to serve the Lord together in missions. Before their marriage, they had been accepted as candidates of The Evangelical Alliance Mission to serve in Irian Jaya. The mission wanted Dave to have some church related ministry experience before going to the field, which led them to serve in the Herbert, Sk. Evangelical Free Church for 5 years. During that time, through the council of godly people, and the circumstances of life it seemed that those mission’s plans would be put on hold as they continued in Pastoral Ministry, with a passion to reach the lost and impact the world. After a series of trying times, the Penners were eventually led to Salmon Arm, where Dave served as the Lead Pastor of Broadview EFC for the next 30 years. During the last 5 years at Broadview, Dave and Wendy made 5 trips to Liberia, West Africa, working in close partnership with Samaritan’s Purse on several projects. This international travel and ministry continued to develop a passion in their lives to be involved in mission’s in some way, particularly to encourage and serve those who are on the front lines.
The Penners love God and people, and are driven by a desire to impact the world and see local churches fulfill their “missional” potential as Great Commission churches. Dave is excited about beginning ministry as Director of the EFCCM. This role will allow them to encourage missionaries on the front lines, as they use their pastoral gifts and passions to serve them. It will also involve traveling across Canada to encourage local churches to fulfill the Great Commission mandate of our Lord to impact their world so His glory can be seen.
